Fresh, Authentic Italian Dishes | A Port Credit Love Local Spotlight

by | Aug 20, 2023 | Love Local, Patient Resources

Supporting local businesses is important to us because our local businesses are at the core of our community. We’re fortunate to live in such a vibrant community, and we have our local businesses to thank for making the Mississauga area such a wonderful place to live and work.

Local business owners are 100% invested in the products they are selling and in creating excellent experiences for their customers. That’s why I love dining at locally owned restaurants whenever I can. Given the option, I’d much rather support locally owned than visit a large chain. The food is almost always more delicious, and the service is better, too!

In this edition of “Love Local,” we’re excited to shine a spotlight on an authentic Italian restaurant in Clarkson Village – Casalinga Ristorante.

Casalinga Ristorante

A Touch of Florence in Clarkson Village

Casalinga Ristorante is an amazing restaurant serving authentic Italian dishes at reasonable prices. It was once a hidden gem, but it’s not so hidden anymore! And for good reason – the food never disappoints.

Casalinga Ristorante’s menu features authentic Italian dishes and pizza made in their famous wood-burning pizza oven. Their extensive pasta menu features classics like penne alla vodka and spaghetti, along with some imaginative dishes you may not have tried before. They focus on using only the freshest ingredients and have a variety of options on the menu – there’s something for everyone. We love that complimentary fresh bread is served with every meal.

They’re open for lunch and dinner on weekdays and for dinner on the weekend. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, they are happy to accommodate your needs with advance notice. They even offer gluten-free pasta.

Why We Love Casalinga Ristorante

Back in one of our very first newsletters when we asked our patients for their restaurant recommendations, Casalinga Ristorante was one of the top recommendations.

Each time we visit, they are busy, which is a testament to how mouth-watering their food is. The staff is always friendly, and the service is impeccable. Everyone is treated like a friend or family member rather than just a customer.

Casalinga Ristorante is the perfect spot for a dinner with family and friends or a date for two. It also happens to be my niece’s favourite. Recently, I was trying to decide where to go to dinner and asked her for her input. Without skipping a beat, she screamed out, “Casalinga!” Clearly, she has great taste.

A Word for First-Time Diners

If you’ve never been to Casalinga Ristorante, I suggest you stop what you’re doing and make a reservation!

Be sure to arrive hungry. If you can, bring someone along so you can order something from each section of the menu and share. My personal favourite dishes are the calamari, the seafood pasta, and the prosciutto pizza. And save room for dessert – you don’t want to miss the homemade tiramisu.

There are so many options to choose from that you really can’t go wrong. I’m sure any dish you try will be a 10 out of 10. Enjoy the experience, the atmosphere and the service.
